GX2 280 by years end?

Ever since ATI took nvidia’s flagship status away from them with the 4870X2, rumours have run wild would what nvidia would have up its sleeve to combat it. With the mediocre release of a new GTX 260 now behind us rumours have resurfaced that we could see nvidia’s new flagship model by years end.
